  • US-EU: The new normal

  • Welcome to this digital event with Clepa!

With the US inaugurating President-elect Joe Biden on 20 January, it’s high time to take a closer look at the future of US-EU relations. For that, we will be welcoming back Steptoe and their expertise during the fourth instalment of CLEPA Plaza.

One week ahead of the inauguration of a new US president, Steptoe’s Senior counsel, former EU Ambassador to the United States and Director-General of DG Trade, David O’Sullivan will provide his assessment of what a new presidential term will mean for US-EU relations and the geopolitical impact, including global trade. CLEPA Secretary General Sigrid de Vries will join him in a discussion about what the future holds for industry and society at large.

Following the conversation, we will delve into topics of growing importance for the automotive industry that will be high on the bilateral EU-US trade agenda: export controls that could impact trade in new automotive technologies and the current and future legal conditions for transatlantic data flows.

    When? January 13th 16.00-17.30.
